Digital Refraction
Instead of endless better-one-or-better-two guessing, digital refraction maps how light bends through your eye and lands on your retina. Dr. Amel refines the result with you, so your prescription starts from measurement, not memory.
Retinal Imaging
A high resolution photograph of the back of your eye, the modern take on fundus photography. It documents your retina, optic nerve and blood vessels year over year, which is how small changes get caught while they are still small.
Tonometry
Your eye pressure measurement, and your quiet bodyguard against glaucoma. Elevated pressure rarely causes symptoms you would notice, so this quick reading is one of the most valuable numbers in your whole exam.
Corneal Mapping
Digital measurement of the front surface of your eye. It guides precise contact lens fittings, flags irregular corneas early and feeds the digital lens measurements your eyewear is built from.

How often should you get a comprehensive eye exam?
Most adults do well with an eye test every one to two years, and children and adults over 60 benefit from yearly visits. Your eye doctor will set the right eye exam frequency for your health history.
How much does an eye exam cost?
Your cost depends on your insurance coverage. We accept plans including VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, Davis, Anthem, Aetna and Medicare. Call (702) 858-4362 and we will verify your benefits before you book.
Do you dilate your eyes at every visit?
No. We use Visionix digital retinal imaging instead of routine dilation, so most visits end with clear vision. Dr. Amel orders a dilated eye exam only when your eye health requires it.
Do you offer pediatric eye exams?
Yes. Pediatric optometry is a core part of the practice, and kids who show early nearsightedness can move straight into our myopia management program.
What is the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist?
An optometrist examines your eyes, prescribes vision correction and treats many eye conditions. An ophthalmologist is a surgeon. When you need surgery, Dr. Amel coordinates your care through surgical co-management and stays your home base.
