Beyond Prescriptions
When Your Eyes Need a doctor
Red, irritated eyes before a work week. A stye that will not quit. Sudden flashes, new floaters, or allergy season making your eyes miserable. You do not need an emergency room for most of it. You need an eye doctor who can see you, diagnose the problem and treat it.
Medical eye care at Vision by Amel covers eye infections, styes, eye irritation, foreign body discomfort and flare ups of chronic conditions. Visionix digital diagnostics and retinal imaging give Dr. Amel a clear view of what is actually happening, so your treatment starts from evidence.
Living with diabetes? Yearly diabetic eye exams watch the retina for early changes long before you would notice a symptom, and your results can be coordinated with your physician.
What We Watch
Eye Disease Caught early
Glaucoma
Eye pressure measurement and optic nerve evaluation at every comprehensive exam, because glaucoma steals vision silently.
Cataracts
Cataract evaluation tracks changes in your lens over time, and when surgery becomes worthwhile, our surgical co-management carries you through it.
Diabetic Changes
Retinal imaging documents your retina year over year, catching diabetic changes at their most treatable stage.
Surface Disease
Dry eye, blepharitis and allergy flare ups, managed with the same LipiScan supported precision as our dedicated dry eye service.
Visionix diagnostic platforms capture the retinal images and pressure readings this medical monitoring is built on.
The Science
Why Early Detection Changes everything
Most serious eye disease is silent in its early chapters. Digital diagnostics read those chapters before symptoms ever start.
Photograph
Retinal imaging captures a detailed picture of your retina, optic nerve and blood vessels. Your eye is the one place in the body where blood vessels are visible without a single incision, which is why diabetes often shows in the eye first.
Compare
Each annual image is compared against your last one. A pressure creeping up, a vessel changing, a spot that grew. Year over year comparison turns subtle drift into an obvious signal.
Act
Caught early, most eye conditions have simple, effective playbooks: drops for pressure, treatment for inflammation, coordinated referral when a specialist procedure is needed. Late, the options narrow. Early detection is the treatment.
Coordinate
Your results do not live in a silo. Findings that matter to your physician, your endocrinologist or a surgeon travel with you, and Dr. Amel manages the follow up either way.

FAQ
Questions, Answered
Can you treat an eye infection or stye?
Yes. Eye infections, styes and eye irritation are everyday work for the practice. Call (702) 858-4362, describe your eye symptoms and the team will get you in front of the doctor.
Should I go to the ER for a red eye?
For most red eyes, an optometrist is the faster, better equipped first stop. For chemical burns or serious trauma, go to the emergency room immediately, then let us handle your follow up care.
Do you handle diabetic eye exams?
Yes. Annual diabetic eye exams with retinal imaging are core preventative care here, and we can share results with your primary care physician or endocrinologist.
What are the warning signs I should never ignore?
Sudden vision loss, a curtain or shadow over your vision, a burst of new floaters or flashes, and eye pain with nausea all deserve an immediate call. When in doubt, phone us first.
Can medical eye care bill through my health insurance?
Often yes. Medical visits like infections, dry eye flare ups and diabetic eye exams can run through medical insurance rather than a vision plan. The team verifies your coverage before your visit.
