FAQ

Eye Exams

Visionix digital diagnostics during an eye exam at Vision by Amel

What technology do you use during an eye exam?

Your comprehensive eye exam runs on Visionix digital diagnostics, including digital retinal imaging and precise sight testing, with LipiScan imaging available for dry eye evaluation.

Do you dilate eyes at every exam?

No. Digital retinal imaging replaces routine dilation at this practice, so most patients drive away with clear vision. Dilation still happens when a medical finding calls for it.

How often should my child have an eye exam?

As a pediatric optometrist, Dr. Amel recommends yearly exams once school starts. If nearsightedness shows up, ask about myopia management early, when slowing progression helps most.

What is a contact lens exam?

A contact lens exam adds corneal measurements, trial lenses and a follow up visit to a standard exam, because a lens that sits on your eye needs its own fitting and health checks.

FAQ

Designer Eyewear

The designer eyewear gallery wall inside Vision by Amel

Which designer brands do you stock?

The gallery carries Gucci, Cartier, Balenciaga, DITA and Tom Ford. Selection rotates, so the wall you browse next month will not be the wall you browsed today.

Are your designer frames authentic?

Completely. Vision by Amel is an authorized boutique for every house on the wall, and each frame comes with the house’s own packaging and warranty coverage.

Can I get prescription lenses in luxury sunglasses?

Almost always. Most sunglass styles from our houses accept prescription lenses in your color options of choice, and digital lens measurement keeps these premium glasses as sharp as they look.

Do you adjust or repair frames?

Bring your frames in and an optician will handle adjustments. For repairs, we will tell you honestly what can be fixed and what falls under the manufacturer warranty.

FAQ

Contact Lenses

Digital contact lens fitting at Vision by Amel in Summerlin

Which contact lens brands do you fit?

Acuvue, Biofinity, Air Optix, Bausch & Lomb and Clariti, plus specialty designs including toric, multifocal, rigid gas permeable, scleral and hybrid lenses.

Can hard to fit eyes wear contacts?

Usually yes. Keratoconus, high astigmatism and post surgical corneas often succeed with scleral or hybrid lenses. Dr. Amel is NCLE certified and fits these cases routinely.

Can dry eye patients wear contact lenses?

Often, with the right lens and a managed ocular surface. We treat the dry eye first, then choose materials and wear schedules your eyes can sustain.
